Our Top 3 Places to Watch March Madness in Austin

Living at The Anderson puts you right in the middle of Austin's March Madness action. These three local hangouts are where you want to be for all the tournament action.

Cover 3 - Where Good Games Meet Better Food

This place is a cut above your typical sports bar. Cover 3 feels a little fancy but still totally laid-back, with TVs everywhere so you won't miss any of the action.

The food here is what really makes it special. Instead of the usual soggy nachos, you get delicious shareable plates that you'll keep reaching for throughout the game. Their drinks are seriously good too – cocktails that aren't just sugar bombs and a beer list that goes way beyond the basics with some great Austin brews.

You'll see a mix of people here – die-hard basketball fans analyzing every play next to couples who came for the food but got sucked into the games. It's the perfect spot when you want to watch basketball but don't want to feel like you're eating cafeteria food.

Haymaker - Comfort Food for Madness Marathons

When you're planning to camp out for multiple games, Haymaker is your spot. Their sandwiches are massive, their burgers are juicy, and weirdly enough, their Canadian poutine (basically fries smothered in gravy and cheese curds) is absolutely worth trying.

The whole vibe is chill with plenty of places to sit, screens you can see from practically anywhere, and a friendly crowd that gets into the games without being obnoxious. They run drink specials throughout March Madness, and there are pool tables for when you need a break between games.

Cain & Abel's - The True College Basketball Experience

If you want to feel the real energy of March Madness, you can't beat Cain & Abel's near UT. This place absolutely erupts during big games – the whole room practically shakes when there's a buzzer-beater. They've got TVs everywhere, surprisingly cheap drink specials every day, and exactly the kind of food you're craving while watching basketball – wings with sauce all over your fingers, juicy burgers, and plenty of shareable apps.

What makes this place special is the atmosphere – it's packed with people that actually about the games. When a 12-seed knocks off a 5-seed, the place goes absolutely wild. It's basketball watching at its most authentic and fun.

Each of these spots brings something different to your March Madness experience, so you might as well try all three before your bracket inevitably gets busted.
